Unit 2 - Business & Labor 1860 - 1900

Following the Civil War, American businesses grew at a record pace. With this growth, the role of labor became important and set the stage for the formation of labor unions in the U.S.

Unit 3 - New South & New West, 1865-1900
|
With the destruction of slavery during the Civil War, the South was supposed to emerge as a new industrial center in the U.S., but efforts to make the South "new" fell flat.

Unit 4 - Populism & An Emerging Empire
|
This unit discusses domestic issues with civil corruption and the expansion of the U.S. to include colonies abroad.

Unit 5 - The Progressive Era, 1890 - 1920
|
This unit will cover what reaction the country had with unbridled industrialism which led to changes in the role government played in business and in reform.

Unit 6 - WWI
|
This unit follows America's path into WWI and the changes that came as a result of the conflict.

Unit 7 - The 1920s
|
This unit will discuss the major cultural and economic changes that occurred during the 1920s. One of the most overlooked and important decades in American history.

Unit 8 - The Great Depression, 1930s
|
This unit will examine the Great Depression and how Americans coped with living in the worst economical period of our history. It will also take a look at the expansion of government programs by the Roosevelt administration and determine what impact they had on the country.

Unit 9 - WWII
|
This unit will cover America's involvement in WWII. It will focus on the military, political, social, and domestic impact of the war on the United States.

Unit 10 - Post WWII to the Korean War
|
This unit will discuss the world after WWII and the fight between the U.S. and Communism up to the end of the Korean War.

Unit 11 - The Cold War in the 50s
|
This unit explores the deepening conflict with Russia and China over communism and takes a look at American society and the impact of the best U.S. economy in history.

Unit 12 - Turbulent Years: 1960 - 1968
|
This unit will cover the drastic social and political changes that occurred in the U.S. starting with the election of John F. Kennedy and ending with the Tet Offensive and the 1968 election.

Unit 13 - The Nixon & Ford Years
|
This unit covers the presidency of Nixon and the exit out of Vietnam. It also will take a look at the Ford presidency.

Unit 14 - Conservative Revival 1977-1990
|
This unit will talk about the Carter presidency and focus primarily on his role in the Middle East. The rest of the unit is focused on the growth of political conservatism during the Reagan presidency.

Unit 15 - The 90s
|
This unit will be focused on the George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton administrations. It will also examine the various right wing extremist groups that emerged during this time.

Unit 16 - From 9/11 to Present
|
This unit will focus on how the world changed after 9/11 and how that impacted American society.

Unit 17 - The Global War on Terror
|
This unit is a more in depth look at the cultures and military tactics employed in order to halt the recruitment and spread of terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq.
