Ash Hill

Ash Hill was the largest community in Butler County (with the obvious exception of Poplar Bluff) until the 1890s when Fisk was built and became more prominent due to its location on the St. Francis River.  Ash Hill once had several lumber mill, grist mills, and eventually a cotton gin.
